We recently asked our staff members some questions so that you could get to know them a bit better.

Meet Jenae A. Anderson!

Q: What is your job title at Burton McKinnish?

A: Senior Associate Attorney

Q: What does your job entail?

A: My job entails everything from client interviews (consultations) to full litigation of client cases.

Q: Why did you want to practice law?

A: Ever since I was five years old (so my parents say)  I have wanted to be a lawyer. The practice of law provides for the most part a chance to become the change you want to see in the world or a way to fix it.

Q: Where did you receive your law degree and when?

A: I received my law degree from The Florida A&M College of Law in 2015.

Q: What areas of law do you practice?

A: A large portion of my case load is domestic/family law. I have done some bankruptcy, evictions, will drafting and some criminal cases.

Q: What do you like most about your job?

A: What I like most about my job is the fight.  Being an attorney is not easy nor predictable. You never know what’s going to happen so you have to be prepared for anything.

Q: What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

A: As a former Division One collegiate athlete I enjoy working out, dancing, mentoring, spending time with my family, and going to church.

Q: What do you like most about East Tennessee?

A: East Tennessee raised me, what’s not to like about it. It’s a part of who I am, from East Knoxville to the mountains there is no better place to be than right here in Tennessee.
